  7. DECadvantage ╤ Enhanced LAN Processor (ELP) is a high-performance loadable EISA
  8.  "type C" LAN adapter which works in Bus Master mode. It offers an onboard
  9. 10Base2 transceiver for direct access to Thin-Wire Ethernet; and an AUI
  10. interface for connection to an external transceiver. It supports access to
  11. external transceivers for 10Base5, 10BaseT, or 10BaseF networks. ELP has a
  12. 68020, microprocessor running at 16.7 MHz (zero wait states); a 128 KB (32-bit
  13. wide) fast static RAM; an internal memory of 1 MB dual-port dynamic RAM for
  14. noncritical protocol execution and data buffering; and an industry-standard
  15. Ethernet coprocessor. The internal memory is large enough to run any protocol
  16. stack and large configurations. The 32-bit wide path to the EISA bus reaches a
  17. bus throughput of 22 MB per second. It can address up to 2 GB of main memory.
  18. ELP has full support for OSI TP4 or TCP/IP protocol stacks loaded into its own
  19. memory. When both OSI TP4 and TCP/IP are required concurrently, one can run on
  20. the ELP itself and one in main memory.
